Electrical Discipline Leader

Our client, a nationally recognized, award-winning engineering firm known for complex, high-profile engineering projects, is seeking a senior-level electrical engineer. The right person will handle a variety of engineering duties, including electrical design, business development, and staff mentorship. 

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Candidate shall possess a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an EAC/ABET certified school
  • Candidate shall possess a professional engineer license (preferably in MD, VA, NY or PA) or be willing to obtain licensure within a year
  • 5 years of progressive technical experience and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to analyze distribution systems and design lighting systems and buildings’ specialty systems
  • Knowledgeable in the NEC, NFPA 101, IECC codes
  • Consulting engineering experience and/or in a construction environment
  • Experience in the commercial, institutional, and retail markets
  • Proficient with planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of engineering projects
  • Skilled in working with architects, building owners, and utility companies
  • Ability to lay out wiring plans and create details using Autodesk software
  • Experience in performing building power and energy code compliance calculations
  • Able to conduct site surveys
  • Able to review, manage and take responsibility for technical work content produced by co-workers
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including proposal and report writing
  • Confident when presenting information and responding to questions from internal and external audiences
  • Provide mentorship to engineering team members
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive, energetic, and cooperative with customers and internal staff
