Dewberry has an immediate opening in our Birmingham, AL office for a Staff Engineer - Electrical Engineer with 2-4 years of design experience in electrical light and power systems, fire alarm systems, for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.healthcare systems, and Infrastructure support.

Responsibilities






  • Support the Lead and Senior Electrical Engineers to develop schematic and construction drawings, assist with code analysis and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
  • Serve as the Electrical Project Engineer for small projects and coordinate work with all disciplines. 
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meeting. 
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections of electrical systems. 
  • Assigns tasks to and coordinate with technicians or administrative staff.








Required Skills & Required Experience






  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree (Preferably passed EIT). 
  • Applicants should have a minimum of 2+years direct experience in related electrical engineering design.
  • Proactive personality with solutions-based approach to problem solving. 
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills (English language) and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit required.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel (Microsoft Office) required. 
  • PE license is not required but is plus. 
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
