Senior Electrical Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in power distribution, lighting, low-voltage systems, and telecommunications design. The ideal candidate will excel in planning, designing, and coordinating electrical systems while collaborating effectively with team members and clients to meet project expectations.
This role requires expertise in low-voltage systems, including security and access control, CCTV, telecommunications (wireless access, high-speed data, and voice/data/video), and structured cabling standards. Additionally, the candidate should have experience supervising and leading teams to ensure project success.
Essential Functions (including, but not limited to):
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to moderately complex projects.
- Review plans, prepare, and oversee technical specifications, contract documents, and reports.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges through field investigations, inspections, and detailed design evaluations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering new business opportunities.
- Participate in strategic planning and business development efforts to expand the team and enhance the firmβs market presence.
- Prepare cost estimates, project reports, and documentation necessary for construction activities and final payments.
- Provide design recommendations, modifications, and adaptations based on real-world field conditions.
- Develop technical resources and contribute to marketing initiatives.
- Serve as a technical expert for Airport and MEP team efforts related to low-voltage systems infrastructure.
- Establish low-voltage design templates, standards, and guidelines to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Assess contractor performance and ensure compliance with construction documents.
- Coordinate utility infrastructure requirements with service providers and clients.
- Plan and design low-voltage systems, including system layouts, wiring diagrams, equipment selection, and fiber optic/cabling transitions.
- Lead quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) initiatives within the department.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing regular performance feedback to the Team Manager.
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends as project demands arise.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit proficiency is a plus).
- Industry certifications such as RCDD and InfoComm CTS are desirable.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
- Extensive experience with low-voltage systems (fire alarm, security, access control, CCTV, network, and communications).
- Experience in airport-related projects is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Licensure
- Valid driverβs license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (with the ability to obtain licensure in other jurisdictions as needed).
