Job Summary:


ON Semiconductor is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional with stellar record of circuit innovation to join the Center-Of-Excellence in Advanced Solution Group located in  Bangalore (Whitefield), India.  As a designer you will have the opportunity to impact the next generation analog/mixed signal innovations across whole of the Advanced Solutions Group. You will be working with a world class team of professionals focusing on developing the power-management and clock management systems that will be used by all product lines across multiple business units and also as standalone discrete products.  



Responsibilities

Performance Objectives:

onsemi’s Core-Analog IP Center of Excellence is hiring an experienced Analog IC design engineer to help us develop IP(s) & sub-systems for next generation Automotive, Industrial & Medical products. The successful candidate will participate in the design of complex CMOS integrated circuits and have familiarity with analog blocks such as bandgaps, amplifiers, filters, precision comparators, LDOs, oscillators, PLLs, DCDCs, Charge-Pumps, High Voltage (>45V) designs etc. Experience with signal chain optimization is highly desired.

Must have a working knowledge of Cadence Circuit design tools.

Analytical approach to problem solving is required. CMOS designs provide challenging learning opportunities where performance, power and reliability are all pushed to the limit while maintaining product execution schedule.

  • Drive development and verification of state-of-the-art analog blocks and mixed signal CMOS designs which can be reused across different market segments.
  • Drive analog circuit requirements discussions, technical issues and other design aspects with internal teams and marketing to arrive at agreed upon product specifications. 
  • Build/develop circuits based on an IP specification, drive the layout design and final IP characterization.
  • Execute state-of-the-art analog designs while following the best design practices with on time quality design releases.
  • Propose innovative and creative solutions where necessary to meet customer & product needs.
  • Work diligently with the analog team members and others to accomplish project goals and meet schedule requirements.
  • Debug of complex integrated circuit problems in the laboratory. Support team debug efforts as needed.
  • Work with Validation engineers and support debug activities and engineering bench evaluation efforts.
  • Analyze design aspects related to DFT and collaborate with other teams to develop DFT strategy for block designs.
  • Document designs including architecture and circuit descriptions, testing procedures, and safety mechanisms.
  • Interface with test, product, and applications engineering to drive the design to a successful production release.
  • Provide technical leadership including IC specification, project planning, design team management, and layout supervision.
  • Close collaboration with system architects and product definers.
  • Mentor junior engineers 


Qualifications
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
  • Proven ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Hands-on experience in a lab environment working with sensitive measurement equipment and data acquisition.
  • Very good debugging ability in circuit operation, and device function
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience in analog circuit designal
