Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Hybrid)
We are representing an award winning multi-discipline full service MEP Engineering and Architecture Firm in the Detroit area seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee the design and implementation of electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of cutting-edge facilities, guiding projects from initial schematics through construction administration.
Job Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will play a key leadership role in managing electrical engineering projects, with responsibilities that include:
Overseeing project execution and leading an electrical engineering team
Designing electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarms, and low-voltage solutions
Develop electrical system scope in coordination with clients and project teams
Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into overall building designs
Conducting engineering analyses, preparing technical reports, and delivering presentations
Presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical
Providing mentorship to junior engineers and conducting quality reviews of their work
Developing and refining project specifications
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S.
15 years of relevant experience within the AEC industry
Strong understanding of NFPA 70 and related codes
Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office tools
Experience with lighting design software (e.g., Visual Lighting, AGi32)
Familiarity with short circuit and coordination analysis software is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Professionalism and adherence to workplace best practices
Willingness and ability to travel as required
