Our Boston, MA office is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10-11 years’ experience for our Transportation Division in our hybrid setting Office. Successful candidates must possess a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited electrical engineering university and be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts. 

The ideal candidate will have successfully completed multiple MEP projects for which he was the responsible engineer and which showcase his skills with, developing designs, specification/report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks. Skills with Revit and energy and load calculation software are a plus. Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Key responsibilities:

Will include being the responsible lead, in the planning, including development of proposal and budget estimates, design and post design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail.  Other potential projects also include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings. Additional responsibilities will include the mentoring and supervision of electrical engineers assigned to his projects and supporting the design Revit and Auto CAD efforts for the projects he leads. Also, assisting other senior electrical staff on their projects as required.  The mentoring of electrical engineers assigned to his projects will monitored for success.

 Day to Day Work Duties:

 Takes the lead on his/her own project under the review and supervision of the current manager of electrical engineer to perform the following project related efforts:

  • Supervise and or develop designs using Revit and/or Auto CAD for power, lighting and fire alarm systems
  • Size and specify electrical equipment/systems
  • Performs electrical calculations using specialized engineering software

Lighting

Short-circuit analyses

Protective device coordination studies

Arc Flash Analysis

  • Develop reports and specifications, utilizing Micro Office Suite
  • Proposal Development
  • Field surveys and documents existing conditions.
  • Mentor electrical engineers working under his supervision on his projects
  • Assist other senior engineers on their projects as needed

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience:  10-11 years minimum relevant experience as an electrical engineering. Registration: Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts and be willing to obtain future PE licensure in other States.

Compensation Range:

$134,504.00 - $179,338.00
