SES is seeking a Geothermal Technician to work with our project teams and clients in markets including K-12 Schools, Commercial, Indoor Agriculture, Higher Education, and Multifamily. Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer

 

Summary 

Independently performs tasks to engineer building electrical power distribution, lighting, building life safety, and security systems. 

Perform detailed phases of design engineering work on multiple major projects of the highest complexity requiring forefront of the field and innovative solutions. Lead in designing and developing standards. 

Additionally, Electrical Engineer IV assists in coaching the development of junior staff competencies and skills.  

 

Accountability  

  • Develop design criteria and equipment selection for preparation of construction documents 
  • Develops specifications, working drawings, instructions, and other related documents of a complex project of large size or multiple projects 
  • Prepare study reports where required for projects 
  • Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures. 
  • Consults with construction personnel concerning complex design constructability issues. 
  • Monitors project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget 
  • Construction phase services including shop drawing review, RFIs, field observation, and punch lists    
  • Preparing design narratives, technical studies, condition assessments  
  • Field investigation and as built of existing conditions 
  • May plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level engineers who assist with particular projects 
  • May plan, organize, and supervise design engineering activities for a project of significant size and complexity or two or more projects of moderate size and complexity. 
  • Inspecting installed electrical systems to ensure their functionality and safety  
  • Resolving any electrical planning issues and developing effective solutions  
  • Maintaining product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations  
  • Maintaining product database by entering data for company records and communication  
  • Providing support to junior and senior team members on projects and subtasks 
  • Leading groups of engineers and technicians on projects 
  • Contributing to project milestones ensuring all milestone deadlines are met 

 

Qualifications and Experience  

 

 Proficient in engineering and designing/coordinating the following electrical systems:  

  •  Power Distribution Systems, including medium and low voltage distribution systems, standby power applications, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash hazard 
  •  Lighting Systems, including calculations, lighting controls, luminaire selections and architecturally integrated lighting systems 
  •  Auxiliary Systems, including fire alarm systems, voice/data structured cabling systems, access control, CCTV and other low voltage systems design 
  •  Proficient use of Revit and AutoCAD 
  •  Understanding of the coordination aspects of all design disciplines and how they impact the project 
  •  Team-oriented problem-solving skills and decision-making ability 
  •  Ability to organize work, multi-task and effectively work within a project team. 
  •  Detail oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible 
  •  Excellent written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills 
  •  Bachelor's degree in engineering or an engineering-related curriculum from an accredited college or university 
  •  Professional Engineer License Preferred
  •  Minimum 10 years' experience specific to building system design and construction
