JOB SUMMARY – Electrical Engineer
This is the perfect role for someone who is highly organized, self-driven, decisive, and eager to pitch-in and support our R&D, testing, manufacturing, and customer service functions. You will be responsible for the development, design, and evaluation of electronic systems for our communication products, and collaborating with the various Engineering teams to achieve stated product goals. ON ANY GIVEN DAY, YOU COULD BE DOING THESE THINGS
- Participate as a critical member of a cross-functional engineering project team.
- Communicate directly or indirectly with customers in person or remotely to clarify requirements and concerns, and provide project status updates.
- Review or create requirements for embedded system architecture, identify critical components and circuit design.
- Prepare detailed schematics and supporting documentation required for high volume manufacturing
- Participate in internal and external design reviews
- Independently perform board bring up, evaluation of prototype and first article printed circuit assemblies
- Develop, execute, and document test plans and results
- Conduct component level debug and identify solutions to complex problems. Troubleshoot design issues as they arise.
- Design and support the assembly of manufacturing test fixtures.
- Optimize documentation processes within the organization.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
Knowledge
-
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Min 5 years of PCBA system design with consumer and/or industrial electronic products.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer and methods used to create manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of design, development, and release process of high-volume electronic products.
- Hardware design experience with embedded digital and analog circuits.
- PCB layout experience with Switch Mode Power Supplies and USB 3.2 High-Speed Differential Signals.
- Understanding of common Linux embedded development tools and commercial IDE’s like Keil IDE.
- Operation of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads used during board bring-up or validation.
- Understanding methods to create low level firmware required to validate circuit designs.
- Control of embedded peripherals.
- Experience developing, testing, and troubleshooting to meet EMI/EMC requirements
- Experience designing for MIL-STD requirements is highly desirable
- Proficient with MS software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
