Responsibilities






  • Design analog, digital, and mixed signal circuitry.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair circuits and systems.
  • Develop schematic capture and layout of Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Work on internal engineering teams to participate and contribute design content on various original and original equipment manufacturers products.
  • Analyze and obtain engineering information from other technical colleagues in support of the job duties.
  • Communicate within the company and supply information to the design and manufacturing teams in a timely manner to help achieve the group's goals.
  • Produce high-quality design documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Participate in design reviews, drawing releases, pilot builds and prototype builds within the engineering group.
  • Assist Procurement and Manufacturing with changed component research and ensuring non-counterfeit parts are sourced for the delivered products.
  • Review existing documentation, identify gaps and work with subject matter experts to define additional content needed in submitted electrical documentation.
  • Design all necessary content within the complete documentation set as agreed with product engineering and review documentation for accuracy with internal teams prior to releasing for production builds. This will include gerber files, schematics, wiring layouts and commercial off-the-shelf component descriptions.

 

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • This position works closely with our Production Team with hands on the actual product, and work will be conducted on desktop computers with CAD programming power requirements. As such, this role anticipates 100% on-site work with regular hours approximately 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

 

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

  • Primary work location will be the CIS Secure headquarters facility located in Ashburn, VA. Minimal local travel is anticipated for this position.








Qualifications






CLEARANCE:

  • None
  • Must meet the definition of a US person as defined by the US regulations:

    • Any individual who is granted U.S. citizenship
    • Any individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder)
    • Any individual who is granted status as a "protected person"

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Degree is highly preferred.

CERTIFICATION(S):

  • None

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ten (10) or more years professional experience designing and testing various electronic systems including VOIP telecommunications devices, digital switches, routers, computing devices and similar technologies. Relevant experience is preferably in an electronics product development setting.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and analog design.
  • Experience using Orcad and Solidworks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong initiative, willingness to problem solve.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while still consulting as appropriate and seeking constructive input.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
