The opportunity 

As our new Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Sydney, you will play a crucial role in the Industrial EI&C team that is revolutionising the design and delivery of major projects to achieve carbon neutrality and sustainability. Your passion for innovative problem-solving and commitment to continuous learning will be essential in shaping a more sustainable future. Here, you'll have the chance to harness your expertise and enthusiasm as you collaborate with a diverse team on fast-paced and exciting projects. 

 

Your role will include: 

  • Knowledge of heavy industrial and process plant projects 

  • Knowledge of key Australian Standards 

  • Prior experience with client interfacing roles 

  • Experience in concept design and detailed design of electrical systems 

  • Experience with power systems software

What are we looking for from you?   

Alongside your industry experience in similar engineering consulting, or equivalent roles, you’ll also have: 

  • Completed a Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia (CPEng preferred) 

  • A minimum of 8 years’ post graduate experience working on industrial projects, delivering process plant projects, energy, water or mining sector projects ensuring quality deliverables while meeting agreed schedules. 

  • In depth knowledge of ‘in-plant’ electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems 

  • Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3008.1.1 and AS/NZS 2067. 

  • Instrumentation and controls experience (preferable) 

  • Experience across all project development phases including concept, FEED and detail design 

  • Power system modelling and analysis experience (with software e.g. SKM Powertools, ETAP, PowerCAD) to carryout load flow, short circuit, power quality and protection studies 

  • Ability to proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to develop project deliverables. 

  • Demonstrated ability in financial management and reporting, including budgeting  

  • Ability to proactively interact with Project Managers, discipline engineers and designers to support project deliverables. 

  • Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
