Responsibilities

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic, electro-mechanical, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing, and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower-level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years or more of engineering or related experience. 

  • Experience designing and wiring robotic electrical systems.
  • Familiar with UL 508A Certification and NPFA-79 fire protection of electrical panels / control circuit.
  • Experienced in UL and similar certification processes for new products.
  • Ability to design/evaluate control panel circuits, power, sensors, control and motor lines and safety circuits as it applies to robotic and other consumer electronics.
  • Ability to design/evaluate safety circuits such as light curtains and e-stops. Able to specify proper breaker/fuse and wiring gauges.
  • Ability to assemble control panels. Including labelling wires, ensuring proper connections (ferrule, crimp, solder). Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems in panels and isolate/replace components (ring cables).
  • Ability to lead/manage more junior electrical designers.
  • Ability to manage/organize all 2-d drawing sets to include electrical and pneumatic drawings in a revision-controlled system.
  • Ability to use CAD such as SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Autodesk LE.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of RFID system design

US: Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
