We are seeking a dedicated Principal / Lead Electrical Engineer to join our client's team, operating within high-risk and critical environments. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting project delivery teams, ensuring the quality of products and services align with stringent standards. This role involves project delivery, signoff, and implementation of Installation Test Plans and commissioning procedures. The Principal / Lead Electrical Engineer will be crucial in identifying constructible project solutions, resolving engineering issues, and championing continual professional development within the business.








Key Responsibilities:




- Deliver and sign off projects in accordance with quality requirements and industry standards.




- Produce, implement, and sign off Installation Test Plans and commissioning procedures.




- Assist project teams in identifying constructable solutions and provide effective resolutions to engineering challenges during construction.




- Develop and manage engineering procedures and initiatives for staff upskilling.




- Stay updated with developments and new products in the power distribution industry.




- Drive continual professional development within the business, actively participating in industry seminars.




- Develop and manage the engineering interface and reporting schedule across the business, ensuring standards are maintained through regular feedback and corrective actions.









Requirements




Essential Experience




- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the power distribution industry in a similar role.




- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems ranging from 400V to 33kV.




- Ability to work in diverse environments and sectors.




- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to provide effective solutions.




- Ability to manage projects within budget constraints.




- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines consistently.




- Exceptional interpersonal skills.




- HNC or relevant Higher Education Qualification.




- Professional Registration.




- HV Switching experience.








Desirable Qualifications




- Degree in Electrical Engineering.




- Experienced project engineer who has worked as a Senior Authorised Person/Authorised Person as per the Distribution Safety Rules.




- Experience in 132kV systems.




- Incorporated Electrical Engineer certification.
