Description:
· The successful candidate will lead the development of the company’s next generation of industrial motor drives for high reliability applications. The individual must understand and be able to develop switch-mode power supplies using various topologies and techniques to achieve an efficient, reliable, EMI/EMC compliant design. The candidate will be expected to thrive in a small company atmosphere where they will be involved with proposing solutions to customer applications and leading the hardware design, development, testing and certification of motor drives for brushless DC motors.
· This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Key Position Requirements:
· Experience with the design and layout of power electronics, including PCB & schematic design
· Experience in all phases of the product development cycle which includes requirements definition, design and development, verification and transfer to production
· Experience in circuit analysis and simulation to ensure design margin and reliability
· Knowledge of mechanical/thermal/packaging design for industrial electronics
· Knowledge of electrical safety standards, EMI and hazardous location compliance
Specific Responsibilities
· Develop internal specifications for the next generation of industrial BLDC motor drives
· Design circuit schematics
· Design and layout of PCBs
· Design and packaging of PCBs in mechanical enclosure
· Selection and development of PCB supplier
· Specify and lead the development testing of motor drives
· Verify though validation testing that the system meets requirements HALT, thermal testing, EMI testing and hazardous location testing
Requirements
· BSEE degree, MSEE preferred
· 10 + years of experience
· Willingness to travel on a limited basis
