Valpak's manufacturing process is synonymous with automation with more than 85 percent of our process automated.


This role involves the design, maintenance, development, implementation, and management of advanced data systems that monitor production equipment and processes. It is essential to ensure comprehensive documentation and a clear understanding of system responsibilities and architecture, which includes creating diagrams and flow charts for informational purposes. 


Key responsibilities include providing technical support to operations, which encompasses basic troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive measures with round-the-clock availability. The position requires the development of expertise in specific areas such as database technologies, programming languages like Visual Basic and SQL, as well as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. Additionally, the role entails maintaining, documenting, and modifying existing systems in accordance with the company's change control procedures, creating documentation and work instructions for new or updated systems, and engaging in design review meetings with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. The individual will also analyze production systems to identify risks related to obsolescence, inadequate design, or insufficient support, and will recommend or develop new systems to mitigate these issues. Collaboration with support teams is crucial for knowledge transfer through training and documentation, which enhances recovery efforts. The role requires ongoing research into emerging technologies and sharing insights on applicable methods, practices, hardware, and software, while actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Adherence to safe work practices is paramount, with responsibilities including reporting injuries and unsafe practices, coaching colleagues on safety, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the company's safety program. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.


Candidates should possess a degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.


Requirements

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:


SQL troubleshooting and programming

Process Flow documentation  

Programming skills in various languages (VB, C++, SQL)

Expert level skills in MS Office applications (Access, Excel, Word)

Data acquisition and analysis management

Testing methodologies 


Preferred Knowledge and Skills:


Experience database design, construction and troubleshooting

Experience with SCADA systems

Familiarity with PLC programming languages (Alan Bradley and Siemens) 

Knowledge ARIS software for process flow modeling. 

High speed manufacturing, preferably printing experience.
