Job Purpose: 

Improvement of abnormal machine status and recovering status of machine used for a long time to original condition with mechanical engineering skill 

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Direct the enforcement of safety practices and ensure that adequate controls exist to prevent injuries and accidents.  Review safety performance and provide corrective actions as appropriate.  Work closely with the EHS Engineer and Safety Committee to accomplish a safe working environment.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through active promotion of HL MANDO Quality Policy.  Assure that department is following established Policies/Procedures/Work Instructions/etc.  Assure that all prescribed records and documents are properly completed and maintained.  Review performance and provide corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Accomplish 100% on-time delivery through effective planning, prioritizing, and coordinating. 
  •  Investigate delivery failures to determine root cause and provide effective corrective action.
  • Work closely with the Production Control team to ensure proper production/maintenance planning.  Will monitor production orders and schedules.
  • Maintain effective communications with all teams and management.
  • Develop/strengthen team through proper training, coaching, and guidance.
  • Drive 5S and housekeeping activities to achieve and maintain excellence.
  • Ensure participation by all team members in continual improvement and cost reduction activities.
  • Foster a proper working environment through fair, consistent, and respectful treatment of Team Members.  Resolve Team Member relation issues through effective remediation techniques
  • Provide leadership to team:
    • Work to develop positive attitude on shop floor.
    • Work to foster a culture of ownership, passion, loyalty, and a sense of urgency by HL MANDO Team Members.
    • Instill mindset of teamwork and cooperation among team members of all areas.
    • Lead by example.
  • Analysis of breakdown and repairs and scheduling of proactive training to correct issues.
  • Provide training on specific equipment
  • Create equipment repair manuals and procedures
  • Ensure all measuring devices on equipment in the plant is calibrated
  • Work with Production Engineering to develop and maintain new control systems for equipment

 Maintain PM control systems and modify process as necessary.

  • Maintain records relating to Maintenance work orders.

 Qualifications: 

  • A four-year degree in a technical field, preferably a bachelor's degree with proven qualifications in industrial control systems, but similar industry experience is accepted instead.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds properly. 

 Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic) and work instructions.
  • Good math skills.
  • Solid computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Analysis of breakdown and repairs and scheduling of proactive training to correct issues.
  • Provide training on specific equipment
  • Create equipment repair manuals and procedures
  • Ensure all measuring devices on equipment in the plant is calibrated
  • Work with vendors, locate new vendors and negotiate price
  • Work with Production Engineering to develop and maintain new control systems for equipment
  • Perform modifications to existing controls as necessary to improve quality and throughput.
  • Maintain PM control systems and modify process as necessary.
  • Maintain records relating to Maintenance work orders.
