Lead Electrical Engineer: Underground Mining Project

This position serves as a Lead Electrical Engineer on assigned projects or performs complex to difficult engineering assignments, designs, evaluates, selects, and applies advanced engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments. Electrical engineering design and project delivery underground mining projects.

Knowledge/Qualification:

• Extensive mining study & execution project experience
• Accredited four (4) year degree (Electrical)
• Professional Registration with ECSA
• Substations and transformers
• High voltage distribution
• Motor control centers and switchboards
• Variable speed drives
• Control and instrumentation
• Earthing
• Lighting and small power
• Writing of technical specifications and design criteria.
• Design work regarding the distribution network of mines from High Voltage/ Medium Voltage
• Taking projects through from Feasibility Study stage, compilation of budgets and scope and taking it through into execution and commissioning up to handover to the client teams.
• Contract and project management
• Underground Mining EPCM project Experience required

• Minimum 8 years™ experience as a Lead Engineer y in an EPCM mining environment.
• Minimum 10 years™ experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of mining projects / equipment
