The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the technical development of electrical designs at GS Engineering. This role will provide a critical function within our team, developing solutions from concept through production. As such, this position requires an individual with a strong technical aptitude and the flexibility to adapt to the specific needs of each of our Clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for the following tasks, and others as assigned:
- Independently solves technical problems of moderate complexity within their area of expertise and works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Typical assignments may include (but are not limited to);
- Development of new/improved platforms including ground-up design, integration of systems, implementation of advanced technologies, and cost reduction;
- Design of complex systems including electric vehicle systems / subsystems, embedded processing platforms, FPGA design, and design for EMI/EMC;
- Obsolescence engineering;
- Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements;
- Directs Engineers in the development of circuit card designs, software development, and integration of vehicle systems;
- Provides input to Project Managers for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets;
- Compiles reports and present information to Project Managers and Clients;
- Responsible for working to project budgets as defined by project management;
- Periodic travel as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS / ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience in a related technical field;
- 5+ years’ experience in design of electrical or software systems required;
- 5+ years’ experience in design of embedded systems preferred;
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm for excellence in technical execution and strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
