Job Description Summary

The Aero Equipment ITR Electrical Engineer will be part of a team tasked to deliver wing-to-wing customer solutions for Equipment projects, from competitive proposal to execution of solutions. This team will execute with safety, quality, speed, on-time delivery, and at cost.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Expert knowledge in electrical systems focusing on power generation and distribution; ability to interpret single line diagrams, schematics & loop diagrams.
  • Deep domain expert on generator protection system with ability to perform load and short circuit analysis.
  • Solid background in power generation application with brushless excitation system using Automatic Voltage Regulators.
  • Hands on experience with Gas turbine instrumentation and controls interface.
  • Familiar with industry recognized Electrical codes & standards (IEEE, IEC).
  • Working knowledge of electrical installation practice to comply with hazardous area classification. 
  • Familiar with balance of plant equipment (Transformers, Control Modules, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers).
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and ability to review MV, HV electrical plant systems design.
  • Prepare and process technical specification for suppliers, review supplier drawings to ensure compliance with project CTQs (Critical to Quality).
  • Provide product clarification and answers to customer’s questions, work with installation and commissioning team to resolve site issues.
  • Work with Project Managers and project leads to prepare customer meeting presentations and actively participate in customer kick of meetings.
  • Prepare & Present Technical design reviews to managers and technical leaders.  Identify IP (Intellectual Property) ideas and process IDLs (Invention Disclosure Letters).
  • Work with the compliance team to execute T&RS (Technical Regulation and Standards) compliance items and ensure full completion of all open items.
  • Identify and executed PCO (Product Cost Out) and SMI (Slow Moving Inventory) opportunities to meet business cost saving goals.
  • Technical Execution (Drawing Redlines to Standards, Parts Creation, etc.)
  • Project Meeting Attendance (Engineering Release, Customer Meetings etc.)
  • Support manufacturing and validation team to resolve project related issues
  • Work with suppliers and review their drawings to ensure compliance to project CTQs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with strong understanding of gas turbines based packages including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Six (6) years electrical engineering experience in the power industry
  • Strong oral and written communication, leadership & interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical issues

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is $98,400.00 - 164,000.00.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
