Intermediate Electrical Engineer

As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will take on diverse engineering tasks that require a deep understanding of your engineering discipline and how it integrates with other fields. In this role, you'll use your initiative and judgment to solve problems, interpret customer needs, address design and field engineering challenges, and manage work schedules. Youll also liaise with suppliers, work with approval agencies and clients, and participate in project planning to meet budget, timeline, and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with clients throughout project delivery, assisting in managing electrical and multi-discipline projects to meet deliverables, budgets, and deadlines; coordinate production activities and quality reviews, and help plan to ensure budget, schedule, and performance goals are met.

Perform technical analysis, create reports, and develop concepts, schematic designs, and detailed designs for electrical projects, including lighting, power, and systems; prepare construction cost estimates at different stages for client budgeting; and conduct technical audits of existing facilities with corresponding reports.

Survey existing conditions for renovation projects; coordinate electrical and telecom service needs with utility companies; carry out site investigations, progress reviews, and participate in Construction Administration Field Review and project closeout stages.

Execute calculations and equipment selection for electrical service and distribution systems, including demand loading, fault current assessment, protective device coordination, and ESA review package documentation.

Lead indoor and outdoor lighting design, including fixture, lamp, and ballast selection, and perform lighting calculations to meet IES standards.

Design electrical systems that comply with building codes, focusing on life safety (fire alarms, emergency/exit lighting) and resource conservation (lighting selection, lighting controls, mechanical equipment services).

Coordinate electrical installations and spatial requirements with other design team members.

Resolve issues using standard procedures, modifying them as needed, or drawing on previous experience; interpret customer needs, investigate design and field engineering challenges, and manage work schedules; work independently with suppliers to ensure appropriate project procedures.

Communicate with approval agencies and clients as directed by senior engineers; prepare progress reports, suggest design changes, estimate costs, and recommend payments for completed work; collaborate with other departments on project requirements; maintain knowledge of related architectural and engineering disciplines, escalating complex issues to senior engineers or specialists.

Assist with tasks and projects assigned by supervisors or senior team members to support the engineering teams and company objectives.

Uphold our company values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community in your daily work and interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
