Horizon Networks is recruiting for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Whakatane. This position is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week.

Reporting to the Design Engineer Team Leader, you will be assisting with:

  • Power system studies;
    • Design of capital network and external projects (Overhead and Underground Line design);
    • Managing customer, distrubtion generation connections and approval process; and
    • Regulatory analysis.

To be successful, a candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering (Honours) recognised by Engineering New Zealand
  • Current Unrestricted Manual NZ Drivers Licence
  • Up to 2 years' experience in Power Distribution industry an advantage, but not necessary
  • Familiar with load flow simulation software e.g. DIgSilent PowerFactory
  • Advanced Mathematical skills
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills with some exposure to databases e.g. SQL.
  • Project management understanding
