The Department of Technology at Norfolk State University seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Computer/Electronics Engineering Technology, beginning August 2023, or January 1, 2024. The Department is fully accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). The Department offers an Associate in Science degree in Architectural Drafting, and the Bachelor’s in Science degree in Construction Management Engineering Technology; Computer Engineering Technology; and Electronics Engineering Technology.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will:
1. Teach and develop undergraduate Engineering Technology courses. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses including, digital electronics, electronic devices, electronic circuits, industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers, embedded systems/ micro-controllers, computer networks and wireless communications systems.
2. Develop partnerships with industry firms to assure internships and field trips for students.
3. Contribute to program and curriculum development.
4. Advise/mentor students and participate in recruitment activities.
5. Demonstrate self-motivation to engage with industry on applied research projects.
6. Participate in ongoing assessment and accreditation activities.
7. Perform scholarly activities and submit grant proposals for external funding to acquire financial support.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by department chair.

Minimum Qualifications
1. An earned Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
2. An earned Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
3. An earned B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
4. Demonstrable track record of successful teaching and scholarship
5. Good communication skills; and must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and ability to work collaboratively with others
