More about the role  

We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Philips Hue Engineering Team in Menlo Park, California.

As a Embedded Software Engineer for Philips Hue, you'll be working on one of the world's leading consumer smart home ecosystems. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary software engineering team in the Bay Area consisting of quality, mobile, embedded, and cloud engineers. Our mission is to build the best smart home security system which differentiates itself through integration with lighting, and a privacy without compromise approach using end-to-end encryption and edge AI. This role will focus on developing Embedded Software for our security cameras.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform and Application Development: Collaborate with the embedded team to expand our platform and application offerings.

  • Feature Preparation and Implementation: Prepare and implement new features by collaborating with team members to analyze market trends, customer needs, and technical requirements.

  • Quality Assurance Collaboration: Partner with the QA team to ensure product quality and reliability through rigorous testing and verification.

  • Continuous improvement: Efficiently identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects to maintain optimal system performance.

  • Global Team Collaboration: Effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse, global team across multiple time zones.

More about you 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 5 years of experience in embedded software role with a proven track record of delivering high quality products to customers

  • 3 years of Software development experience in Python or similar languages

  • 3 years of experience on embedded Linux software development.

  • Knowledge on API and network communication technologies including MQTT (preferred)

  • Strong quality and collaboration mindset with passion for delivering the best Smart Home product experiences

Salary: $87,200.00 - $127,930
