hydroGEOPHYSICS (HGI) is a geophysical services company that provides state-of-the-art solutions to our customer’s needs. HGI works within the mining, nuclear, engineering, and environmental industries. We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer with at least 5 years of experience to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing electronic systems and components. They will also be required to troubleshoot and solve any problems that may arise during the testing or implementation phase.
Responsibilities:

Create new geophysical instruments

Design and develop electronic systems, circuits, and support components

Maintain and support the operations of our legacy data acquisition systems

Conduct laboratory and field tests of prototype and field grade products
-
Analyze laboratory and field data to ensure that the systems and components meet specifications
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve problems
-
Troubleshoot and solve any issues that arise during the testing or implementation or maintenance phase

Develop and maintain technical documentation

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
-
A degree in Geophysics is a plus
-
At least 5 years of experience in electronics engineering

Excellent knowledge of electronic systems architectures, design, and testing
-
Ability to synthesize electronic systems and solutions from concepts presented by non-electrical engineers

Low noise analog signal conditioning circuit engineering, and modeling, including active and passive filter design
-
Knowledge of embedded computer and data acquisition systems
-
Knowledge of and use of Analog to Digital Converters

Knowledge of digital logic and communications protocols (SPI, IIC, UART, etc.), modeling, and testing

Power supply design and implementation for analog and digital circuits

Strong problem-solving skills

Experience with low noise mixed signal Printed Circuit Board design, layout, and manufacturing processes

Proficient in software tools such as Pspice, Matlab, and LabVIEW

Familiar with schematic capture

Knowledge of and experience with OrCAD, and Comsol Multiphysics is helpful
