The opportunity…

We are excited to welcome an Electrical Engineering Manager to the team, joining our newly established regional model, supporting our South-East QLD Water business across a diverse range of capital works projects. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for all electrical, instrumentation, and controls aspects of projects, leading the delivery of electrical scopes valued up to $500 million. This opportunity is perfect for a technical Electrical Engineer with a strong background in design and construction of water infrastructure, who is eager to lead, collaborate, and align project delivery with business strategy and growth objectives. 

What you will be doing…

  • Monitor contract performance ensure compliance with operational standards and drive cross-program improvement and innovation strategies while ensuring Zero Harm principles are embedded in decision-making.
  • Oversee the implementation of resources and strategies to effectively manage financial, commercial, and operational risks, ensuring sustainable outcomes.
  • Utilize governance forums, forecasting, and planning processes to ensure adequate resources and capabilities are in place for current and future customer commitments.
  • Seek opportunities to expand contract coverage, secure additional revenue, improve margins, and reinforce the value provided to customers.
  • Foster a collaborative culture based on open communication, shared learnings, mentorship, and Zero Harm principles, all while driving high standards of personal accountability.

What you will bring… 

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Trade qualification, complemented by extensive experience in design and construction (experience in the water industry is highly advantageous).
  • Proven experience in leading electrical scope delivery for complex capital projects, including both self-performing and contractor partner delivery models.
  • Expertise in mobilising large contracts, pursuing & tendering attractive Electrical opportunities, negotiating subcontractor engagements, and a solid understanding of the local market, including electrical subcontractors and clients within the region.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements, deliver strong financial outcomes, manage change effectively, and cultivate productive, mutually beneficial client relationships.
  • Proven track record in managing, mentoring, and developing emerging talent, fostering a high-performing team, and building team capability for future success.
