ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern who will participate in project execution from the conceptual phase to the construction phase. Your duties will include technical-focused activities to aid in the generation of engineering/construction plans and reports, project specifications, interdisciplinary coordination, shop drawings and submittal reviews, and construction progress reviews, all under the guidance and supervision of the senior staff.  You will gain valuable insight into all aspects of technical consulting, engineering design, and construction processes. This is a paid summer internship lasting 10-12 weeks.

Job Functions:

  • Assist in the project design phase with engineering design, creation of engineering plans/drawings and editing technical specifications 
  • Assist with inter-disciplinary reviews to ensure that no design/construction conflicts occur 
  • Assist during the project construction phase by reviewing contractor requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, equipment submittals, and the creation of construction plans. 
  • Travel to project sites with senior staff to assist in site assessment or construction progress. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Graduated or currently enrolled in a technical school or a 4-year ABET-accredited college program specializing in Electrical engineering, sustainability, or energy management and control technology (EMCT). 
  • Revit and AutoCAD knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Time management and problem solving 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must show willingness to learn and be mentored under the guidance of senior staff
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
