Electrical Engineer Intern

Position Type/Hours:

Summer Intern position. 40 hours per week – Part time status. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 

Position Purpose:  

First- and Second-year interns will perform a variety of shop and machine assembly/wiring tasks. Each intern will have a mentor Engineer or Technician, who will guide them as they learn about Delta ModTech equipment. 

Third- and Fourth-year interns transition into electrical engineering department to perform general duties or degree specific customer projects – which could include some travel. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems 
  • Strong Electrical aptitude 
  • Approaches problems and creates solutions.
  • Proactively learn about new technologies

Education and Experience: 

Delta ModTech hires interns who are enrolled in a 4-year engineering program. We hire all levels of interns and encourage interns to return to work 3-4 summers with us before signing on for a full-time engineering position upon graduation.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

 

 

 

 

Salary Range:
 $22.00 - $25.00 / Hour (Dependent upon graduation year)
