Overview






SUMMER 2025


Shure offers a challenging, fun and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.


As the Electrical Engineering Intern (Digital Circuitry), you will work under the close direction of senior staff on the design, implementation, and testing of electronic circuits for wired microphones, wireless microphones, signal processors, personal monitors, conference systems, headphones, earphones, and/or accessories.


This Internship is 100% Onsite.









Responsibilities






  • Designing, simulating, and testing digital circuitry  
  • Developing printed circuit board assemblies 
  • Assembling prototypes 
  • Performing validation testing of circuits 
  • Circuit defect analysis and resolution 
  • Performing system/sub-system level tests 
  • Documentation 
  • Completing an independent design project 








Qualifications






  • Two years of coursework in Electrical Engineering or a related area. 
  • Basic knowledge of digital logic circuits, embedded microcontrollers, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, DSPs, FPGAs, and other digital components.  
  • Basic knowledge of audio related circuits, audio systems, and audio measurement techniques. 
  • Basic knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters. 
  • Soldering and circuitry building or repair skills 
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and an attention to detail. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team 
  • Experience with schematic CAD software, PCB layout, and SPICE simulation software is a plus. 
  • Experience with programming languages or creating test scripts is a plus.

Each internship has an hourly rate which varies from $21-$40 per hour based on job function (Engineering, IT, Business, etc) and year completed in school (Junior, Masters 2nd year, PHD, etc).
