Are you an electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology student who wants to advance their technical and customer service skills? DMC’s Electrical Engineer Co-op will assist Senior Engineers in the creation of electrical schematics, BOMs, panel layouts, I/O lists as well as the selection of electrical components.

Responsibilities you will assist in: 

  • Creating custom control panel layouts and bills of materials
  • Designing wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and one-line power distribution drawings
  • Creating and maintaining AutoCAD Electrical templates, blocks and symbols library
  • Organizing and maintaining project drawings and technical information
  • Managing time amongst multiple projects 

Core Requirements: 

  • Be enrolled at the University of Cincinnati pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Must be at least a Pre-Junior
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Proficiency with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD electrical
  • Familiarity with PLCs, IO Modules, VFDs, Motors, and other standard automation equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel 

Nice to Have Skills: 

  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks
  • Ability to size power components, including breakers, fuses, VFDs, Disconnects, etc.
  • Ability to determine and layout power distribution
  • Ability to size panels and calculate heating/cooling requirements
  • Ability to create BOM from high level requirements
  • Generate Loop Drawings and one-line drawings 

ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at DMC must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. §  1157-1158.
