ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – Wireline – Reservoir Performance

The selected candidate will work in an engineering project that is charged with the development of a downhole tool to be used for corrosion evaluation in the Oil and Gas Industry. A fully functional experimental prototype (EXP) has been built and has recently been tested in a real well. The EXP is partly based on existing technology, combined with a novel acquisition system that drives a next-generation ultrasonic measurement sensor. It contains five electronics boards, each with its specific function (master, two power-supplies, memory, acquisition). The project will now start upgrading the electrical architecture of the EXP. The system and power-supply boards will be replaced by existing next-generation boards. The other power-supply board and the acquisition board will need to be upgraded. At least one supplementary board will need to be designed entirely. A laboratory setup will need to be put in place to be able to test all interdependencies and demonstrate the functionality of the new system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Integrate two new boards into an existing architecture and develop a lab demonstrator based on the new architecture.

- Adapt/re-design the acquisition-power-supply board to handle the new input power supply.

- Develop from scratch at least one new board (application board for new master-board) and a new tool-harness using internal and external resources for routing and manufacturing.

- Writing of project documentation: Specification, Design justification, Verification plan and Qualification report.

- CAO board follow-up: schematics, constraints document, management boards placing and routing.

- Collaborate with the firmware team to ensure those aspects are properly transferred to the new architecture.

- Prepare test plans and setup V&V tests to evaluate acquisition board performance under temperature, shock and vibration.

- Prepare test plans and setup V&V tests to evaluate full tool behavior at temperature.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

- Competency in digital electrical hardware design (analog nice to have).

- Experience with CAO place and route follow-up.

- At least 5 years of experience as technical assignment in designing electronics.

- Very comfortable with lab environment and with most measuring tools.

- Good communication and writing skills in French and English.

ACCREDITATION: Electrical Accreditation training certificate

Specific BE-HE operations Tests for electronic equipment and/or test platforms (this certificate of training in electrical accreditation may exceptionally be transmitted for the consultant within the month following the start of his mission if the training request has been transmitted in order to know the date of its accreditation.) This Electrical Accreditation certificate is named internally: QUEST EUR-FR-SRPC Electrical Safety Level 2.

This Electrical Accreditation is mandatory. If the consultant has not already followed it, he must be registered by his employer as soon as possible.
