DescriptionWood is currently accepting applications for Electrical Engineers, in anticipation of growing our industrial electrical engineering team, in New Brunswick. Wood is actively engaged in some of the most exciting and complexed projects within the region, which are expected to span over multiple years. Responsibilities
- Conducts checking of engineering deliverables as required
- Individual must have extensive understanding of all engineering discipline drawings and electrical discipline wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions and calculations
- Capable of independently evaluating the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals
- Assists in planning, scheduling and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work
- Participates in conferences with the client to establish project objectives and resolve design problems
- Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions and system descriptions related to design tasks
- Individual shall be able to develop bills of material and specifications for equipment.
- Conduct field assessments and provide construction support on occasion at client facilities and construction sites
- Interface with clients for project scope development, design reviews, and progress meetings
Qualifications
- University graduation, majoring in electrical engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer in Canada
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- 15+ years relevant experience preferable
- Local codes and standards
- Experience with industrial, refinery and utility facilities would be considered an asset
