The A.C.Coy company has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer.  Ideal candidates must have 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in heavy industry (automotive, metals, paper, mill/foundry).   Experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives and motors is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing electrical engineering services to support production, maintenance, and engineering
  • Responsible for electrical systems safely integrated with manufacturing, along with upgrades of existing equipment
  • Crafting and developing programs that will support process improvements and new electrical systems
  • Coordinating all phases of assigned area electrical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure
  • Assisting production and maintenance with equipment and process issues
  • Supervise multiple electrical technicians
  • Functioning as a problem solver, applying theory and experience to develop process improvements and correctly identifying problems by submitting sound recommendations for long-term improvements of equipment and processes
  • Leading and participating in process improvements with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance and production
  • Mentoring employees to increase their knowledge of equipment and process

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience

Experience Required:

  • Electrical Engineering experience in heavy industry - 3+ years
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives and motors, low& medium power distribution - 3+ years
  • Experience leading, managing and completing electrical projects
  • Experience leading capital projects - Preferred
  • Experience working in a union shop - Preferred
