Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is a key component of our sales strategy and supports the sales, design, and operations team with technical information to ensure proposed deals include the right products and technical solutions to accurately address customer needs. 

There are five core responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer role:

1. Being a product expert

  • Familiarize yourself with the various manufacturers, vendors, and products in the Christmas decor industry
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and tradeshows
  • Stay abreast of new and developing product trends in the industry

2. Being an installation expert

  • Partner with your commercial designers to create and/or identify the best way to install products at client locations
  • Understand and advise on electrical needs
  • Understand and advise on interior and exterior rigging solutions
  • Follow OSHA and safety protocols and best practices
  • Follow local regulations and laws 

3. Knowing available internal and external inventory

  • Ensure product and supplies availability for client installations

4. Working with your sales teams to win new business.

  • Answer product questions from your sales teams quickly and professionally
  • Advise on electrical consideration for the products
  • Assist sales teams with pre-sales installation support
  • Perform product demonstrations to internal and external parties

5. Documenting installation plans

  • Use or create power plans and wiring diagrams to mock up electrical needs.
  • Create product lists and other installation documents for use by field technicians and others throughout the organization

5. Working with other teams to ensure up-to-date and accurate product information throughout the organization

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years experience of consulting experience in electrical engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Licensed as a professional engineer.
  • Basic knowledge and experience using autocad mep (2d and 3d) and/or revit
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of skm power tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (visual 3d or dialux).
  • Experience with sel, ge multilin, or similar relays.
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Excellent analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel within assigned local market
  • Strong business productivity skills (ie word, excel, powerpoint)
  • Experience with CRMs is a plus
  • OSHA certification is a plus
  • Rigging certification is a plus

Additional Information

This position will be based out of Westchester County, NY. You must be able to report to the office daily. Some travel required.
