Job Details:

The successful Electrical Engineer is an individual who can assist the preconstruction managers in preparing cost estimates for purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling, and pursuing new work as well as the design of design/build work. The successful candidate will be able to analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates while consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction supervision to discuss and formulate these cost estimates and resolve issues. The successful candidate should also be able to assist in the design of building systems such as lighting, lighting controls, branch power, and distribution systems while following all applicable building code requirements. Responsibilities:

• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction supervision to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Confer with engineers, designers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Market to general contractors, designers, and owners.
• Provide cost alternatives while preserving the intent of the design.
• Utilize the latest science and technologies to offer state-of-the-art electrical designs and installations.
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
• Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to construct, pre-fabricate, or sub-contract components to obtain maximum effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain tendering process, and contract negotiations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Design of electrical building systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree or Enrolled in an accredited BSEE Program as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
• Proven resource management and critical thinking skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in information analysis and decision-making
• Working knowledge of the latest technologies and engineering practices
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
