Summary
The Electrical Engineer Intern reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for the design and substantiation of new electrical subsystems and modifications to aircraft primary electrical systems. These subsystems include but are not limited to intercommunication systems, mission power, video distribution and RF connectivity. The Electrical Engineer Intern should be familiar with FAA regulations and applicable drafting standards.
Principle Accountabilities

Take part in the design of modifications to primary aircraft electrical power systems.

Take part in electrical design of aircraft equipment installations and alterations. These include but are not limited to antennas, avionics equipment, video distribution systems and communications systems.

Prepare and validate documentation as necessary to satisfy internal engineering department and regulatory requirements.

Observe installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.

Support the engineering department in providing electrical engineering guidance/counsel and communicate requirements to company, customer and vendor team.

Support quality assurance for ongoing projects.

Prompt and regular attendance.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an internship is part-time and temporary. Timeframe will be decided at a later date. Hours are part-time and are not exceed 28 hours in a week. Days and hours of work primarily fall between Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Travel
This position does not require travel.
Required Education and Experience
-
Enrollment in an ABET accredited program pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

Exposure and introductory knowledge of preparing wiring diagrams in a CAD system and preparing reports and other documents using office software.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Entering third year of an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering or related field program.
- Minimum an A.A. or A.S. with enrollment into an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering or related field program.

Recent experience in the aviation field.
Other Hiring Requirements

Valid Driver’s License.

Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
