Our company is currently looking for an experienced, accomplished, self-motivated Electrical Engineer to maintain and support our Aerospace, Tactical, Life Sciences and Industrial products and systems. The Electrical Engineer will work across a variety of functional groups that are directly involved in engineering, product development, and implementation. The ideal candidate is an inventive problem solver that is capable of working through technical challenges and employing pragmatic solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that challenges and also provides experienced mentoring in many engineering disciplines to increase breadth of knowledge for even a seasoned senior engineer.  This team consistently provides integrated services that meet or exceed our clients’ product requirements and specifications.

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Communication:  Be excellent in both written and oral communication. Explain your ideas with precision to fellow experts and non-technical audiences alike. Clients, executive leadership, and program managers must be able to understand your recommendations or needs for additional resources.

Interpersonal:  Be a superior mentor and coach to coworkers.  Listen to what is said – and what is meant.  Work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet technical and program objectives.  Support an interactive and dynamic environment where new ideas and strong technical feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

Planning:  Be able to calculate the demands or multiple projects and make strategic choices about using resources and optimize each phase or operations. Manage individual time to meet budgets and schedules.  Work with different experience level team members to optimize product development timing as well as grow each individual’s skill set with valuable technical experience.

Technology:  Design, develop, and test electrical equipment, components, or systems. Apply mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Contribute to research efforts to develop a solution or a new product. Utilize problem solving skills and critical thinking in complex aspects of a project. Work is both independent and highly collaborative in nature.

Objectives:  Develop efficient and cost-effective, best-value type product designs including system and firmware architecture that meet or exceed requirements, specifications, time and budget goals.   Be a team player and foster good customer relationships with quality design and support.

Other:  Our company is heavily involved in aerospace and defense projects.  As such, the candidate is expected to be an American citizen and reflect patriotic ideals.  A background check may be required.

 

 Key Duties:

  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials
  • Confirm system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties
  • Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
  • Develop product specifications that meet or exceed customer requirements and that are within customer and Company deadlines and budget
  • Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
  • Create HDL code and/or “C” code that meet or exceed product requirements and specifications  
  • Create electronic hardware designs that meet or exceed product requirements and specifications
  • Generate documentation for the designs created, including but not limited to design analysis and “as built” measurements and results
  • Complete detailed design analysis and documentation to support high level customer product functionality and reliability reviews
  • Prepare technically complete Data Reports and Design Review data packages achieving first pass customer approval/acceptance
  • Prepare for, attend and make technical presentations to existing and prospective clients (e.g. design reviews, technical interchange meetings, etc.)
  • Systems integration and testing
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, electronic schematics, and software flowcharts
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
