Job Description:

Waldron Engineering and Construction, Inc. is seeking an electrical engineering graduate to join its consulting engineering team in the power generation industry. This position is for a highly motivated individual who is interested in working with and learning from experienced engineers in the office and in the field, while performing engineering tasks on industrial power distribution and generation projects.

The successful candidate in this position will design Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems for Combined Heat & Power (CHP) plants, campus and/or district energy systems, and municipal scale power generation facilities. In this role, the successful candidate will also provide engineering support for utility interconnections and generator protection schemes. Typical tasks will include Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, Coordination Studies, development of One Line Diagrams, Protection Schemes and Motor Control circuits for MV and LV circuits.

Waldron is a multi-discipline engineering firm with Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and Controls engineering and design personnel. The position will involve close coordination with other disciplines, in a team environment with a focus on delivering successful engineering and consulting projects to our clients.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop Design Documents (One Lines, Cable/Wire Schedules, Interconnect Diagrams, equipment specifications, etc.) for new facilities
  • Write Specifications for purchase of electrical equipment
  • Review electrical equipment submittals and ensure proper coordination with overall design. Ensure equipment meets design intent of the project.
  • Perform calculations and analysis of electrical systems
  • Travel to client sites during construction
  • Provide on-site commissioning support
  • 10-20% travel is required
