Position description:
As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing energy storage systems for high-demand electric heavy-duty applications. Initially, you would be responsible for the following project: Active hybrid energy storage system for heavy-duty applications - AHESS4HD.


Tasks will include:

  • Designing the concept for a hybrid energy storage system that combines high C-rate battery cells with supercapacitors to enhance performance and extend battery life.

  • Determine the appropriate power converter topology to manage the efficient distribution of power between primary lithium ion batteries and supercapacitors.

  • Conducting simulations and tests to assess the performance of the hybrid energy storage system under various high-demand scenarios.

  • Working closely with industry and research partners, managing interactions and translating technical findings into practical project plans, considering their requirements and limitations.

  • Managing projects at EuroTube, planning and leading them from start to finish, from setting expectation at the beginning of the project to achieving the required results


Technical qualifications:

  • Experience in control systems and energy storage technologies

  • Proficiency in power electronic converter principles and operation

  • Familiarity with lithium metal battery technology and hybrid energy systems is highly desirable

  • Experience with simulation tools and testing methodologies for energy systems


Personal profile:

  • Proactive attitude towards collaboration and communication

  • Independent and organized way of working

  • Experience in project management or stakeholder management is a plus

  • Proficient in English. Any additional language is a plus

Contract type: Fixed term with possibility of extension
Place of work: We provide an office and workplace in Dübendorf, Canton Zürich. (Close to Stettbach)
