Electrical Engineer/Electrician

The Electrical Engineer/Electrician is responsible for managing the electrical systems of plant and equipment in the Company. This role will ensure the continuous and efficient operation of electrical systems, handle the electrical maintenance schedule, and contribute to cost control and process improvements. The position requires hands-on technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to lead a team to meet operational, financial, and safety objectives.

 Electrical System Management & Maintenance

• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of electrical systems and equipment across the plant.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including motors, control systems. and wiring
• Perform regular electrical maintenance and inspections to avoid system

- Project Management & Upgrades

• Lead electrical system projects for plant infrastructure, ensuring adherence to timelines and safety standards
• Coordinate electrical upgrades, installations, and system enhancements as needed
• Implement effective solutions to improve system performance and reduce energy/consumption

- Team Oversight & Development

• Supervise and provide technical guidance to the electrical maintenance team
• Support training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge
• Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance department

- Cost Control & Budget Management

• Ensure electrical maintenance costs align with the budget and track financial performance
• Review resource and material allocation to optimize cost-efficiency
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report on potential improvements

- Safety & Compliance

• Ensure electrical work complies with local regulations and safety standards
• Proactively address electrical safety hazards and implement corrective actions
• Monitor and report on health and safety issues relating to electrical systems

- Reporting & Performance Metrics

• Generate and review reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and downtime
• Track KPIs such as lost time failure rate and downtime, contributing to business sustainability and performance goals
• Provide insights on root cause analysis and preventive measures to reduce downtime

- Process Improvement

• Contribute to the development and continuous review of electrical maintenance processes
• Work on continuous improvement projects to enhance the efficiency and reliability of electrical systems

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field

Experience

• Over 5 years of experience maintenance within an FMCG or manufacturing environment
• At least 5 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role, leading maintenance teams or projects
• Proven track record of successful electrical system upgrades and project management.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical expertise in electrical systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting and budgeting
• Ability to anaylse data, identify issues and implement effective solutions
• Strong communication skills, able to work collaboratively with other teams and contractors
