GENERAL SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineering Designer III reports to a Managing Director or Director and receives specific and detailed instructions to produce contract and presentation documents.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

● Perform engineering duties in planning and designing electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, and fire alarms for various structures and buildings.

● Assists in the various design elements to complete a project, system, component, or system with other team members with clear and specified objectives involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and/or equipment.

● Assists in preparing complete project documentation, including plans, specifications, due diligence reports, etc.

● Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work; work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects using time efficiently to stay within budget and deliver on time.

● Interacts and collaborates with clients, officials, contractors, and other project team members.

● Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients.

● Correct and update drawings and assist the project team and other staff members as required.

● Ensures that company technical policies and procedures are practiced during the execution of projects for clients.

● Delegation of work tasks and collaboration with subordinate staff, monitoring and reviewing delegated work for accuracy.

● Assists the Project Manager in coordinating project designs with other disciplines, including attendance at project meetings.

● Performs specific engineering studies and design analyses and assists the Project Manager in establishing budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules.

● Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate as required with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.

● Performs on-site inspections as required.

● Develop one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and short circuit calculations.

● Develop a lighting plan and perform photometric calculations.

● Layout fire alarm devices.

● Understanding of low voltage devices.

● Prepare electrical drawings using designers or drafters and develop specifications.

● Coordinate design with vendor-supplied equipment.

● Prepare equipment layouts and general arrangements.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

● Strong and versatile building design and presentation skills.

● Proficiency with current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.

● Proficiency with electrical engineering software such as SKM, AGI, and Visual.

● Sound knowledge and understanding of the project development process, including construction, retail, and commercial buildings.

● Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

● Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.

● 2-5 years of experience.
