Individual careers can span the array of our Business Areas. Career opportunities identified by Business Area:

  • Simulation/Trainer Design Engineer (Electrical): Design and manufacture of high-fidelity simulators and trainers for the most complex fixed wing and rotor wing air vehicles, both manned and unmanned, and ground vehicles. Including: F-35, F-18, V-22, H-60, H-47, VH-3, VH-60, H-53, H-65, C-130, F-5, T-44, M346, AH-1, S-70, MQ-4, MQ-8, MQ-25, and Abrams M1A2.
  • Simulation/System Laboratory Engineer (Electrical): Design, development, and sustainment of high fidelity test facilities for complex air vehicle integrated systems, including E-2D Systems Test and Evaluation lab, P-8A Systems Integration Lab, Unmanned Air System Integration Lab, F-35 Joint Simulation Environment Lab, the Executive Helicopter Systems Integration Lab, MQ-25 System Test and Integration Lab, and the Multi-User Laboratory Environment.
  • Mission Systems Design Engineer (Electrical): Design and fabrication of prototype and low-level production of systems and components including the T-45 Mission Computer Alternative, E-2D Mission Computer Adjunct Processor, Digital Heads-Up Display, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), and Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
  • Instrumentation Design Engineer (Electrical): Design, development, integration, and support of complex, flight-worthy, fighter-ruggedized, on-board instrumentation for precise time stamping of test events and post-mission reconstruction of event sequences across multiple aircraft platforms by recording MIL-STD-1553 bus, ARINC bus, and GPS position data during flight test events.
  • Aircraft/Shipboard Mod/Prototype/Parts Design Engineer (Electrical): Design, manufacture, and installation of aircraft, shipboard, and ground station components, piece parts, and assemblies including aircraft prototype systems, aircraft modifications, aircraft part kits installations, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems ground control stations.

J.F. Taylor, Inc. is seeking engineers to contribute to all phases of the design cycle including requirements generation, design, production, troubleshooting/testing, and delivery/installation. Engineers work in a team setting with Project Managers, Engineers, Testers and Technicians. Tasking will consist of the following:

  • Electrical engineering design, integration, and test of electrical interfaces for power distribution systems, I/O systems, real-time audio and visual systems, digital data networks, and for the integration aircraft avionics such as Mission Computers, Flight Management Computers, Vehicle Management Computers, Multi-Function Displays, Control Display Units, Cyclics, Collectives, Pedals, Flight Control Surface Actuators, FLIRs, Navigation Systems, Weapons Systems, Terrain Avoidance and Ground Proximity Warning Systems into simulators, trainers, and labs.
  • System level design, architectural and requirement development
  • Generate, read, and comprehend electronic schematic diagrams
  • PCB design development using different tool sets such as OrCAD
  • FPGA design with Xilinx and Altera
  • Development and utilizing GERBER files
  • Interfacing with RS232, RS422, CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, RS485, High Speed design, 1553 and ARINC 429
  • Cable design for both laboratory and military applications
  • Perform design trade-offs
  • Support requirements and documentation development, and assist with test planning and execution.
  • Read and understand different software code types as C, C++, C#, and JAVA
  • Utilize engineering tools, primarily AutoCAD and WindChill
  • Adhere to military/DoD aircraft avionic systems, interfaces and power requirements
  • Adhere to military and industrial standards such as Mil-STD-704, HOST, Open VPX
  • Work individually and as part of a team
