Electrical Engineer

With more than 4,000 active customers in the five-state region it covers, JHFOSTER has seen significant growth and is seeking an Electrical Engineer.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop concept system designs around the different automated solutions. 
  • Responsible for preparing a detailed and accurate project proposal. The proposal includes customer information, project scope details, project lead-time, conditions of sale, terms and conditions.
  • Develop and present proposals to prospects/customers, including solution details, and any relevant technical details around the solution.
  • During customer meetings, support the sales executives with the overall & technical know-how on the JHFOSTER concepts developed. 
  • Represent JHFOSTER on-site customer visits and trade shows.
  • Support the Sales teams in developing relevant business cases around the presented concepts, including ROI and savings estimates.
  • Responsible for preparing detailed and accurate project layout drawings. The layout shows the system dimensions, machine utility requirements, and critical system callout such as utility locations and elevations.
  • Present quoted projects and product positioning to the Automation team on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain expert level of knowledge regarding all JHFOSTER automation product lines.
  • Able to thoroughly understand and communicate the financial impacts of any JHFOSTER business decision.

 

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Able to draft, read, understand, and analyze engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of the steps to effective selling and customer relationship building.
  • Advanced business math skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills; strong capacity to incorporate critical thinking into the decision-making process.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce written communication at a professional business level. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, two-year technical degree.
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer with relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of job experience in a similar role (sales, robotics, engineering, integration, turn-key solutions).
  • Experience working in a “make-to-order” or “engineer-to-order” environment preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Demonstrated effective technical skills.
