Electrical Engineer - Circuit Board Design

Major Duties & Responsibilities of Position:

Work in a team environment directly with project managers and engineering technicians. The Electrical Engineer provides electrical and mechanical support for design, fabrication and repair of electro-mechanical products. Strong emphases on electrical and mechanical problem analysis and resolution. Create new products based on customer needs and specifications. Involves reviewing existing or non-existing solutions (possibly at customer sites) and creating a drop-in solution with equal or better performance and quality at the required price point. Design and fabrication of custom test stands, test fixtures, and writing of test procedures as required to support new repair opportunities. Knowledge of electronic and electromechanical systems. Other duties and responsibilities may be required as needed.

Daily duties may include:

•Work with project managers, technicians, purchasing and suppliers, to ensure deliverables are met

•Reverse engineer existing circuit designs, create schematics, circuit layout and bill of materials

•Design custom electronics based on existing circuits or customer requirements

•Fabrication of prototype parts using basic machine shop equipment (manual mill, lathe, band saw, drill press, etc.)

•Writing test procedures and processes

•Design, fabrication, assembly and wiring of test stands or test fixtures

•Creating schematics from existing circuit boards to assist with circuit troubleshooting and testing

•Assemble and test new products including circuit boards, electromechanical devices and assemblies

•Assembly includes through hole and SMD devices using both hand soldering and reflow techniques
