Description

General Description: Arora Engineers, Inc. provides design and construction services for MEP, fire protection and alarms, and low voltage/special systems for aviation, transportation, educational, and commercial and institutional facilities.


 


Overall Responsibility:  Supports the undertaking of project teams in the design and delivery of services related to design and construction of systems related to your discipline, as well as the overall project. The Electrical Engineer shall be responsible to the Electrical Practice Lead.


 


Essential Functions: 



  • Functions as Electrical Engineer on assignments.



  • Ensures coordinated design on projects.

  • Contributes to estimation of projects, planning, and construction feasibility including the development of project scope, scheduling and budget, and/or construction estimating.

  • Participates in the development of design drawings and technical specifications.

  • Provides advisory information during the construction phase.

  • Performs site surveys and contributes to engineering studies.

  • Attends and contributes to office, client, and project meetings.

  • Participates in the monitoring of project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards of excellence.

  • Performs engineering studies.

  • Performs technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings.

  • Follows up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns.

  • Participates in internal project meetings on a regular basis, including being responsible for minutes.

  • Acts as liaison between our client (owners/primes) and the firm.

  • Coordinates with owner/client representatives.

  • Assures Arora’s electrical standards are met. Assures client’s design standards are met.

  • Ensures project design and construction issues are addressed and resolved to the benefit and satisfaction of the owner/client.


 


 


Secondary Functions:



  • Related duties as assigned.

  • Supports applicable requests as needed.

  • Lends support to all business areas outside of technical discipline focus as needed.

  • Duties as assigned by Project Managers, Discipline Lead, and local Operations Director.

  • Reviews Planned vs. Actual Labor and reconciles Project Plans.

  • Supports Practice Lead on project and staff management as assigned.

Qualifications

Needed Skills:



  • Proficient in project management concepts.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Strong knowledge of the applicable Codes and Standards as it pertains to electrical engineering.

  • Strong communications and negotiations skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.

  • Detail and safety oriented.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with fellow employees, clients, and vendors.

  • Understanding of underlying principles of A/E industry.

  • Proven record of leadership responsibility and expertise, including decision making, flexibility, problem-solving, reasoning, strategic thinking, and accountability.

  • Basic understanding of multi-discipline systems and installation including MEP, fire protection and fire alarms, and low voltage/communications/data work.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.


 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET accredited University. Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) examinations. Minimum of seven years’ experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility.



  • Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.

  • Valid state driver’s license (any in US).

  • In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.

  • Ability to meet worksite security requirements including criminal background checks and TSA threat assessment evaluations
