We currently have a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to work with our multi-disciplinary Engineering Consulting team. This role is a newly created, permanent position based in Melbourne, Cairns or Adelaide. About the role
• Working collaborately, develop Concept and Detailed Electrical Designs according to relevant Standards
• Undertake analysis to support integration of marine electrical systems into platforms for medium to large scale Naval Defence projects
• Perform Engineering Investigations and develop documentation such as Reports and Specifications.
About you
You will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical (or Mechatronics) Engineering. Experience within the defence maritime sector is preferred, but not essential, and you may be transitioning from another industry, like Power Generation and Distribution. We are open to all levels of experience from Graduate, Mid level, to Senior
Essentially you will have
• Current RPEQ status or eligibility to gain Registration
• Practical experience with Power Distribution, Generation and Auxillary systems
• Experience with Electrical Design including Power Generators, Power Distribution, Lighting, Electric Propulsion, Degaussing, Control and Monitoring, Converters and
Transformers, Distribution boards, Electrical Protection Calculation. Sizing and Selection of Circuit Breakers
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards and their impact on Electrical Design
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work directly with Clients
• Exceptional attention to detail
• A flexible and agile approach
Travel for ship inspections will become part of the role.
Due to Client requirements, you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to apply for an NV1 Security Clearance.
