Vayu Aerospace, a dynamic and innovative company in the aerospace and drone technology sector, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead our advanced electrical engineering initiatives. This role is critical for designing, prototyping, and integrating sophisticated electrical systems in our UAVs and drones, ensuring the performance and safety of our technology in diverse, high-stakes environments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring efficient, high-quality designs.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and integration teams to integrate electrical systems into complex aerospace applications.
  • Design, test, and validate PCBs and wiring harnesses for use in aircraft, testing equipment, and production environments.
  • Manage system architecture and ensure compatibility and seamless integration of electrical and electronic components.
  • Support field testing teams, with availability to assist remotely and onsite when required.
  • Oversee troubleshooting, diagnostics, and debugging of electrical and electronic faults, utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
  • Create and implement firmware for device drivers and other low-level applications.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of designs, processes, and system integrations.
  • Establish and refine production processes for scalable, reliable hardware manufacturing.
  • Maintain organizational standards for electronic documentation and physical hardware handling.Β 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience, including significant work in leading projects and teams.
  • Extensive experience in PCB design and ruggedization for challenging environments.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in debugging with tools such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Strong foundation in firmware development and embedded systems.
  • Proficient in systems integration and architecting complex electrical systems, ideally in aerospace or robotics.
  • Strong skills in C/C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of high-speed protocols (e.g., PCIe, I2C, SPI, AXI) and experience with flight stacks like PX4 or Ardupilot.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with robotics, UAV systems, flight control systems, or other electromechanically actuated devices.
  • Linux OS proficiency and experience in embedded development environments.
  • Familiarity with RF design and its application in aerospace or automotive.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a high-energy environment with shifting priorities and dynamic project demands.
