Electrical Engineer 6 (Medium/Low Voltage)

  • With high-level goals provided, designs electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, and sustainability/renewable energy systems, ranging from basic to high complexity, to meet client project requirements.
  • Reviews draft designs for regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels and approves completed designs.
  • Conducts power system studies and electrical calculations, including lighting simulations, layouts, communications, fire alarms, security systems, and similar tasks. Ensures all designs adhere to firm policies and practices.
  • Conducts site visits and studies as needed to verify that designs match location specifications, updating requirements as necessary.
  • Contributes to the firm's technical knowledge management by developing white papers and technical documentation on new or unique designs and studies.
  • Submits technical papers and designs for publication in professional journals.
  • Works with sales staff to prepare proposals in response to client RFPs, reviewing drafts for compliance with firm, industry, and regulatory standards.
  • Meets with clients to discuss their current and future design needs and attends conferences to enhance the firm's visibility in collaboration with sales staff.
  • Performs other duties as needed and provides technical guidance and training to junior staff, mentoring them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
  • May also supervise junior engineers on project work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities

Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design.Β Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
