Job Overview:


As an Electrical Engineer in our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and developing electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components for premium-quality laundry products and services. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Sustaining Engineering team, you will closely align with an internal customer group.


Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and test electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components to meet project needs.
  • Write detailed design specifications and develop test plans for evaluating electrical components and sub-systems, including motors, transformers, contactors, drives, relays, switches, heaters, and sensors.
  • Develop drawings for electrical components and systems, including schematics and wiring diagrams using tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, and PADS.
  • Set up and describe test specifications for electrical and electronic controls.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and in-house colleagues on the development of sub-systems and components.
  • Understand and design sub-systems and components to meet marketing specifications and regulatory standards, considering the full system design.
  • Provide support to production as needed, working on Quality Improvements (QI) and Continuous Improvements (CI), and participating in problem-solving activities.
  • Specify new components for designs, develop, design, and implement them into production.
  • Specify new microcontrollers for new designs and develop necessary tools around these devices.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 5 to 10 years of Electrical Engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Motor drive experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering design software and equipment.
  • Experience with software programs in assembly, C, or higher level for microcontroller-based electronic controls.
  • Ability to write technical reports and complete documentation within required timeframes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented while still connected to larger project goals/outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to be hands-on and dig into challenges.
