Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and prototyping of electrical and electronic aspects of products. This role involves creating and maintaining documentation, selecting components and suppliers, as well as supporting existing products. The successful candidate will contribute to refining the overall product development process and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical and electronic circuits for Controls and Power Distribution.

  • Generate drawings and documentation.

  • Select components and manage suppliers.

  • Contribute to digital hardware/architecture and microcontroller/microprocessor design.

  • Develop embedded software for products.

  • Create manufacturing instructions and input data into the ERP system.

  • Define and refine electronics architecture platforms across multiple products.

  • Support sustaining activities for existing products.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the electrical and overall product development process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3+ years of recent design experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Detailed understanding of electronics and embedded systems.

  • Proficiency in electrical CAD, including schematic capture, simulation, PCB layout, and component library management.

  • Basic mechanical CAD ability.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Design experience in Motion Control and Servo systems, including programmable multi-axis motion controllers, servo motor amplifiers, and motor selection.

  • Experience with Machine Vision and Camera Systems for inspection and guidance.

  • Analog and digital design experience, including ADC, DAC, AFE circuit design, and high-speed digital system design.

  • Familiarity with industrial field buses (Ethernet, CAN, RS-485), embedded Linux systems, and system design principles.


Desirable Skills/Knowledge:

  • Industrial robotics and automation.

  • Knowledge of Ethernet and Industrial IO networks.

  • Proficiency in serial communications.

  • Understanding of safety protocols for automation.

  • Familiarity with sensor technology and pneumatics.

  • Knowledge of ID/Barcode technology.

  • Experience in machine design for NEC, UL, and CE compliance.

  • Programming skills in various industrial languages.

  • Expertise in process control for heating and cooling.

  • Familiarity with conveyor systems and part feeding.

  • Experience in system installation, commissioning, and end-user training.
