We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing and designing power distribution systems, including high and low voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays. In this role, you will be performing load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and harmonic analysis to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power systems. Will also perform Arc flash studies. 

As the Electrical Engineer, you will be working closely with other engineering departments, project managers, clients, and contractors to integrate power systems and addressing any design or implementation issues. Identify and resolve electrical issues, provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and operation phases. Capable of traveling to and working safely within industrial and manufacturing facilities. Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful completion of power systems design projects. This position is intended to progress into management over a growing electrical engineering department. 

This is a temp-to-perm that is required to be fully on-site. Relocation assistance may be available. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • 5-10 years experience in electrical engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia or the ability to obtain through reciprocity within three months of starting date
  • Experience with electrical systems design including power distribution, lighting and control systems, grounding and lightning protection, and emergency and uninterruptible power systems
  • Proficiency in system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, AGI) and technical code (NEC/NFPA 70, NESC/IEEE)
  • Functional knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
