Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

In this role, you’ll support Air Liquide’s safety, health, and environmental procedures. Your responsibilities include providing high-voltage electrical (HVE) support for maintenance activities, overseeing vendor repairs, managing preventive maintenance during turnarounds, and ensuring proper documentation within CMMS (Maximo). Additionally, you’ll analyze data, participate in root cause analysis, and develop maintenance strategies based on findings. Your goal is to maintain compliance and optimize electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and comply with all Air Liquide Safety, Health and Environmental procedures/policies
  • Provide HVE support for planned and unplanned maintenance activities and troubleshooting
  • Direct and oversee vendor shop repairs on high voltage equipment and motors to insure highest quality work and adherence to Air Liquide standards
  • Manage preventive maintenance (PM) of electrical equipment during turnarounds
  • Ensure proper documentation of work within CMMS (Maximo)
  • Review vendor repair, test & inspection reports communicating results summary to affected plants
  • Develop detailed scopes for electrical projects and maintenance activity
  • Responsible for engineering of projects, personally and via contractors
  • Lead mentoring and training of facility operations and technical staff in understanding the operation/maintenance of electrical systems/controls
  • Maintain 95% or greater compliance in PM program and 100% EIS PM compliance
  • Dedicated to achieving and maintaining no past due Electrical PMs
  • Ensure proper planning of work orders utilizing Maximo
  • Actively promote improving PM details and Job Plans following proper procedure
  • Insure PM and PdM programs are being executed and follow up work is performed and documented
  • Assist in analysis and follow up on PdM data (thermography, relay and breaker testing, transformer oil/gas test, PD and PI of motors, etc)
  • Actively lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis and Vulnerability Studies
  • Develop and modify maintenance strategies based on RCA, VS and Risk Analysis findings
  • Plan, manage and execute major electrical maintenance activities and turnarounds
  • Complete major maintenance activities on schedule and budget
  • Participate in development of annual maintenance schedule, budget and turnaround plans
  • Understand and promote the GCPL Maintenance Management Process
  • Utilize the GCPL Maintenance Center and Corporate standards
  • Provide feedback to improve the spare parts stocking at each plant
  • Work closely with contractors; monitor contractor work quality and cost
  • Make suggestions to improve plant safety, efficiency, reliability and quality
  • Lead Maintenance Incident reviews for electrical systems and drive related improvements

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

  • 5+ years experience in plant high voltage or substation electrical maintenance activities

  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of high-voltage motors

  • Experience in troubleshooting high-voltage transmission equipment

  • Can travel for extended periods of time (1 to 10 days), with little advance warning

  • Thorough understanding of safety requirements when working around HV equipment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Qualifications:

  • Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb ladders and work off elevated platforms/surfaces.

  • Ability to work in a non-conditioned environment for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in flash suit for testing and troubleshooting
